- Supports video modes up to 4K and up to 8-channel LPCM/HBR audio. Maximum available resolution is determined by your computer and display. Adapter will not allow resolutions above what your PC or HDMI display are capable of.
- Supports HDCP/DPCP content protection. Note that all other devices in the playback chain must be HDCP compliant for playback of protected content such as Blu-ray.
Notes:
- Mini DisplayPort is NOT compatible with Thunderbolt 3. Thunderbolt 3 using USB Type-C port and NOT Mini DisplayPort.
- Mini DisplayPort is NOT compatible with Macs (before 2008) that have Mini-DVI. Please check your port before purchase.
- Macs made before 2010 are NOT able to output audio over Mini DisplayPort. More info and then check the Model Identifier field in Hardware Overview.
- Please be aware that with an OS X Mavericks update (10.9 and later) Apple disabled 4K output on the vast majority of previous Mac models. For a list of 4K-compatible Mac systems, please google HT202856
- This cable can only pass signal from DisplayPort to HDMI port. It is not a bi-directional cable.
- Audio will not be passed through the adapter to the HDMI display on Macs. Samsung U28D590D not compatible with Mac systems.
Mirror and Extend Mode Settings:
For MacOS, Top left corner Apple icon–>System Preferences–>Displays–>Mirror or Extend Displays; For Windows 10, press Windows key + P combination command–>choose Duplicate or Extend. For Windows system laptop.
Plug & Play ( Not require any software or drivers)
- This is a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. only convert signal from Mini DisplayPort to HDMI, cannot be bidirectional. So please make sure the mini displayport is connected to a computer, and HDMI is connected to a TV, monitor or projector.
Active ( Difference between Active and Passive)
- Passive only supports to connect one monitor, but active supports multi-monitors. This item is passive, please note.
